Findmmm

Our Story

OUR STORY

It started with a sentence almost everyone with a big photo library has said:

“I know that photo is in here somewhere.”

I’ve always been frustrated trying to find photos I know are on my iPhone. You scroll. Guess a year. Scroll some more. Try a search. Get 500 results. Change the search. Give up.

Then a friend showed me his library of nearly 100,000 photos. On his computer, he’d spent years organizing them into folders. On his phone, that organization was essentially gone. Vacations, family, friends, and everyday life had become one enormous timeline. The photos weren’t lost. His ability to find them was.

My business partner and I asked a simple question: What if we searched for photos the way people actually remember them?

We don’t remember filenames. We remember WHO was there, WHAT we are looking for, WHEN it happened, and WHERE we were.

Those four questions—the 4 W’s—became the foundation of Findmmm.

Finding the memory

Findmmm—Find Many More Memories—is a photo and video discovery app for iPhone and iPad with one simple purpose: help you find the memory you’re thinking about.

Maybe it was Sarah. Maybe you were in Paris. Maybe it was around 2019. Maybe you remember dinner but almost nothing else.

Start with one clue and narrow your search using Who? What? Where? When? Explore a map, spin the wheels, describe a picture, or simply ask Findmmm with your voice. You can also add missing names, locations, dates, and tags, putting context back into photos received through WhatsApp, social media, or friends.

From the beginning, one decision wasn’t negotiable: Your photos are yours. Period.

Findmmm processes your library on your device. We don’t upload your photos to our servers. Your memories stay with you.

Making it real

We built and tested Findmmm with real libraries containing tens of thousands of photos and videos. Finding something quickly in a library that size took months of building, breaking, testing, and simplifying.

Something that works beautifully with 500 photos becomes a very different challenge with 50,000 or 100,000—all on a phone that’s also doing a hundred other things. We had to make searches fast without using more memory than Apple allows an app to use. That led us to develop our own Search Index technology, working quietly under the hood. It took a lot of work to make everything feel simple. But when someone finds a photo or video they thought was lost, they shouldn’t have to think about any of that. They should just get to enjoy the memory. We really think we’re onto something. We’ve even filed a U.S. provisional patent application for the technology behind it.

From the beginning, we knew the photo apps on Apple and Android were already good utilities. So we kept asking ourselves: What else could we offer? What would make someone want to open Findmmm every day? We wanted to make finding photos—and stumbling across forgotten ones—something people would enjoy. An app they would use every few days and one that would bring a smile to their face.

Throughout development, our team kept one word in mind: delightful.

In September 2026, Findmmm went from our development devices to the Apple App Store. We shipped it. That was a pretty good day.

The best moment for us is when someone finds a photo with Findmmm that they haven’t seen in years. A few clues, a familiar face, and suddenly a forgotten afternoon comes back. That’s why we built Findmmm. And as people use it and share their experiences, we’ll keep making it simpler, faster, and more useful. Because the thought that started it all is still the one we want to answer:

“I know that photo is in here somewhere.”
